The aim of the Personal Safety Project is to help older people who have fallen, or are at risk of falling, by identifying and helping to reduce risks and hazards; and to promote independence in the home. We:
- Assess and identify risks that may exist.
- Advise on simple everyday safety precautions.
- Arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other aids to be supplied and fitted free of charge.
- make referrals to other healthcare professionals if the need arises.
Following referral and initial risk assessment the project will provide ongoing support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls.
